Not much is known of this part of our family history.

The earliest record we have is William Goodwin born in Wincle Cheshire in 1797, he married Sarah Whittaker also of Wincle on 18th October 1830 at Prestbury. William and Sarah had five recorded children, the second of which Sarah Goodwin went on to marry Abel Yates - see the Yates page.

Wincle is between Macclesfield and Congleton on the old road - the River Dane eventually flows through Congleton         St Michael's Church, Wincle, Cheshire.
